The Tavistock Institute was part of the National Evaluation team for the second phase of ‘Skilled for Health’. We used a ‘Theory of Change’ framework to evaluate Skilled for Health at programme, project and individual level.
In an attempt to secure improved health outcomes, and thereby address health inequalities for those with lower socio economic status/less social capital, this ambitious programme aims to deliver improved health outcomes for this sector of the population through improving literacy levels. Working with the Department of Health and ContinYou, and the Department of Education and Skills (now re-named as the Department for Children, Schools and Families), this evaluation of the second phase of the project aims to work collaboratively with project teams to build on lessons learned from previous project experience. With sites based in diverse locations, from prisons to libraries, across business and community sectors, this provides a fascinating insight into project life.
