Dr. Kerstin Junge
As an evaluator, I am an expert in theory-based evaluations, seeing evaluation primarily as an opportunity to learn – from implementation and sound evidence. I enjoy working with people doing new things to solve a challenge at any scale, collaborating with others to find new solutions to the organisational or social challenges of our time. Often these are experimental, emergent, with little or no evidence base behind them. These can test how we use evaluation methods and approaches.
I enjoy experimenting with novel approaches and methods as well as finding new ways of using ‘tried and tested’ ones to help these innovators make sense of what they’re doing: using theory of change to work out come and impact pathways, finding the best methods to collect data, creating collaborative learning environments to help people discover the value of evaluating. I ‘live’ the TIHR value of combining research and evaluation with organisational consulting and regularly use my knowledge in this area to support cross-disciplinary and multinational team working in temporary (project) organisations.
