P3C: Practitioner Certificate in Consultancy & Change
I walked out of St Pancras Station in London a while back and met this installation in the piazza. It hadn’t been there the day before. Called Whatever happens – its surprise appearance and title immediately reminded me of being an organisational consultant:
- where had this come from?
- how long will it stay?
- what does it mean?
- how was I to engage with it?
- how were others engaging with it?
- had it come from above or below?
- should I ignore it or find out more?
The sculpture was placed by an international communications company. It was a response to Brexit and the uncertainty it poses – post Brexit, if we leave the EUSST, the EU space surveillance and tracking programme, how will we know if meteorites are heading our way? The overarching message was to keep connected and develop resourceful solutions together.
These are common questions in organisational life and a key message for an organisational consultant, OD expert or HR leader working with change and organisational design.
