Dr Kathleen Pogue White was a Professional Associate of the Tavistock Institute for over 30 years, and a very active ally of the Leicester Conference and of our international Group Relations programme.

She mentored and coached several Tavistock colleagues and was a close colleague of Eric Miller. She was his Associate Director for the very first Group Relations Conference in Nazareth that focused on remembering, reparation, and working through.

She had a rare clarity of mind and generosity of spirit. It is hard to imagine the Group Relations, ISPSO and AKRI communities without her presence and clear voice.

Kathy was a psychoanalyst and leadership development consultant, latterly in independent practice in New York. She was a founding member and past director of the William Alanson White Institute Organization Program, a Learning Center promoting psychoanalytic understanding of organizations, and a fellow of the International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations, the A.K.Rice Institute for the Study of Groups and Organizations and the Australian Institute of Socio-Analysis.

Kathy touched many of us over the years, both personally and professionally, and she will be remembered with great affection and respect. She passed away peacefully on 11 March 2026.
