Mark Redhead

Trustee

Mark joined TIHR as a trustee in September 2025. His career has comprised roles in the UK health sector at both a national and local level covering strategy, engagement and influencing, planning, sector development and internal consultancy.

Currently Associate Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Mark has also worked for the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Providers and the British Medical Association.

His non-executive experience includes being a trustee of the College of Optometrists, where he also chairs the Lay Advisory Panel. He previously chaired Ehlers-Danlos Support UK, a support charity for a significantly under-diagnosed connective tissue disorder. Mark is also a coach and facilitator – most recently at the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, supporting the Clinical Fellows Scheme.

In training as a coach Mark became extremely curious about the Tavistock approach to understanding the world, its participants, its myriad environments and peoples’ capacity to act. He has since formally trained in group relations and systems psychodynamics.

He believes that integrating key TIHR principles into his practice has made a large difference to how he approaches resilience and how he works with others, grounded in empathy and looking for common connections while valuing difference.
