Welcome
South Africa continues to face deep systemic challenges reverberating through our institutional fabric. The problem with old traumas and patterns of perception is that they tend to perpetuate societal and institutional fragmentation.
We need leaders from public, private and non-governmental institutions to deliberately seek integration and coherence through constructive partnerships. To look below the surface. To guide and be guided by each other’s healing and transformation.
This conference creates a reflective space for engaging the deep, often unexplored dynamics that shape our collective institutional lives. It invites us to look at the unconscious forces that block collaboration, sabotage authority and evoke fear in the face of real change.
Through a systems psychodynamic lens, we will explore, amongst other dynamics, the tensions between hope and fear, authority and resistance, collaboration and protectionism – and what becomes possible when institutions partner across boundaries, with courage and curiosity, in pursuit of excellence, renewal and transformation.
We are inviting other leading corporations to join as additional sponsors, but most importantly, we invite leaders, managers, academics and organisational consultants, from across all sectors, to sign up and participate in this profound and potentially life changing event.
Not a Traditional Conference
This is not a conference in the traditional sense. It is a live, intensive laboratory, where participants form a temporary organisation for examining:
- How we take up roles and exercise authority,
- The unconscious dynamics that affect collaboration and change,
- What becomes possible when we lead, with courage, across boundaries.
Primary Task
To study the exercise of authority and leadership in the taking up of roles, through the relational context that unfolds in the here-and-now, within the conference as a temporary organisation in its systemic context.
