Job title — Senior Operations Administrator

Team — Finance and Operations

Salary band — £30,000 - £33,000 per annum FTE (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Full time, 9:30am — 5:30pm (with some flexibility for hybrid working)

Permanent position

Location Contracted to our office in Old Street, London.

The Role

As Senior Office Operations Administrator, you’ll ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities, facilitate the optimisation of resources, and contribute to the overall positive environment of the workplace

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day office operations, including room bookings, office facilities, greeting guests, and managing events.
  • Provide general administrative support, including ordering office supplies, handling travel bookings, and coordinating catering.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and supporting IT systems, compliance, and health and safety procedures.
  • Support the organisation’s ISO14001 (Environmental Management) group and sustainability efforts.
  • Handle budgetary management for operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operations-related queries and outsourced suppliers.
  • Support strategic use of TIHR’s office space and resources.
  • Assist in training programmes for operational improvements such as project management and health and safety training.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture by supporting staff events and initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a highly organised individual with a passion for operational efficiency and a proactive approach to challenges. 

About you:

  • At least 5 years of office operations and administration experience.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of compliance issues such as GDPR and Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrable experience in operational improvements and cost management.
  • H&S qualifications (e.g., Emergency First Aid at Work, Fire Warden) are a plus.
  • Experience in the charity or SME sectors and knowledge of procurement is desirable.
